Stitching Understanding & Development (SUED Org) is a community based Organization operating in Gilgil with projects in 16 rural schools of Nakuru, Kericho and Bomet counties. SUED actively participates in preparing a generation of young people that appreciates high moral values as a way of life. SUED takes the lead as a pillar in implementing UN Goals SDG 4 to transforming communities through books, value based education, capacity building, and climate change mitigation. The organization derives from the recognition that many children in the rural areas have limited access to books. Hardly does one find a child that has a book that is not for mainstream curriculum, but to read and expand their knowledge. Even among educated Kenyans the habit of reading barely exists so gaining knowledge after education ceases. Acquiring the reading habit will encourage children to continue educating themselves after school. With partnerships SUED empowers school leaders, parents and teachers to deliver great learning outcomes and to enable children to acquire an education that prepares them to be contributing global citizens. PSFA’s holistic school nutrition support programme ensures thousands of children receive the nourishment they need to thrive, reinforcing the fact that you can’t teach a hungry child. A donation of only R950 will enable PSFA to feed a child for a year, and R100 will feed a child for a month. Our goal is to ensure that 500 learners will receive 2 daily meals for a year (R950 X 500 learners).

HopeTown is based in Ocean View, Cape Town, South Africa. We are a youth-based community development NGO and reach out to the disadvantaged families in the community. We offer an internship programme centred around skills training for young people who have dropped out of school. We also reach out to about 130 kids in the community with dance, art, sports, tutoring and youth events. Our small high school offers Grade 7-9 and bridges a gap to enable vocational training. Zonder schoolgebouw kan nog onderwijs worden gegeven in de open lucht, maar zonder goede docenten lukt dat niet.

In response to poorly resourced Catholic schools asking for help with mental health difficulties, the Catholic Institute of Education (CIE) began a mental health pilot project in 2023 with 60 teachers from 20 schools. In partnership with, and with the support of, the Regional Psychosocial Support Initiative(REPSSI), the CIE continued the project into 2024. In 2025 the CIE has continued with the project and has introduced a new component: trauma-informed practices for poorly resourced Catholic Schools. 20 Schools will be included in the project and the Catholic Institute of Education itself, will go through the training to become a trauma-informed organisation.

Menstrual hygiene is a critical aspect of girls' health and education in Kenya. Many girls in Kenya miss school during their menstrual periods due to lack of access to sanitary products, inadequate facilities, and stigma surrounding menstruation. This project aims to promote menstrual hygiene among school girls in Masaba South Sub County in Kenya and thus help to improve their health, education and overall well-being. These activities will be central to the realization of our goal: Promotion of awareness on menstrual hygiene through training, provision of affordable sanitary towels to girls, improvement of toilets and disposal systems and creating supportive environment for girls.
